Rose City Rabbit Fanciers Results - 01/25/2012
RESULTS FOR THE RCRF WINTER SHOWS...
We have received results for the Rose City Rabbit Fanciers shows held January 25 in Saint Helens. Best of Show A went to a Broken Mini Rex owned by Kathy Tellechea & Pam Renfro of Lexington. Show A's Reserve in Show was a Broken Mini Lop exhibited by Lisa Davis of Prosser, WA. In the B show, BIS went to Lisa Davis (Broken Mini Lop) & RIS was awarded to Mike Ritter of Puyallup, WA (Netherland Dwarf).
Youth Show winners were Mikaela Bjorn of Oregon City (Solid Mini Lop Junior Doe), for Best in Show and Larissa Schultz of Astoria (Black Mini Rex Senior Doe) for Reserve in Show.

OLRCB Members Receive Recognition
from OSU Cooperative Extension
OSU Cooperative Extension Service - Yamhill County, recently recognized two long-time OLRCB members - John and Nancy Nyberg, with the "Friends of Extension Award".
John and Nancy have contributed many hours volunteering as part of the OSU Cooperative Extension 4-H Small Animal Program. The Nybergs reside in Newberg, Oregon and have made a positive and lasting impact towards the Oregon 4-H Youth Development Program and its participants.
OLRCB Recognizes Oregon Youth in ARBA Youth Contests
Oregon had but one member who participated in the ARBA Youth Contests at the 2011 ARBA National Convention Youth Contests in Indianappolis. Larissa Schultz, an OLRCB Youth member participated as part of the District One Team. Here, Idaho and Washington members are pointing her out in the photo above. Way to go Larissa!
OLRCB members - Larry & Sharon Webb of Oregon City, won Best Opposite Mini Satin with a Siamese buck. Congratulations!
Tri-County Rabbit Breeders Assoc. Results
RESULTS FOR THE TCRA FALL SHOWS...
We have received partial results for the Tri-County Rabbit Breeders Association shows held October 15 in Albany. Best of Show A went to a Himalayan Mini Rex owned by Melanie Ackley and James Bigbee. Show A's Reserve in Show was an Opal Rex exhibited by a non-member. In the B show, Don and Judy Atchison grabbed the Best in Show title with a Black Mini Rex. Jeff and Terisa Silbernagel's Dutch was awarded the Reserve in Show title.
One of our Youth Show winners is Daniel Geroux (pictured in the slideshow below). His American Dalmation Senior boar ("Hillhouse's Woody"), is a self-bred Dalmation American cavy that garnered the Best of Breed award at the OCBS Fall Youth show. Daniel also entered his Black Himalayan Jr doe - "Hillhouse's Elastagirl" in the TCRBA Open Shows A & B. This doe was the BOB winner in both shows. Like "Woody", "Elastagirl" is also homegrown. Daniel is 10 years old, raises American Dalmation cavies and Himalayan rabbits, and is a member of ARBA, OLRCB, OCBS, and the AHRA. He is also a member of the Rogue Rabbit Raisers 4H club in Medford.

Two OLRCB Members take Show in Washington
Two OLRCB members took the two top honors in the Northwest Rabbit Breeders Show B at their Fall Shows venue in Monroe, Washington held Saturday, October 1st. Collin and Jojuan Cedergreen of Forest Grove, Oregon took the Best in Show title with an outstanding Palomino. The Cedergreen's have been very active in promoting this attractive commercial breed who's numbers had dwindled over the years. Regardless of the overall numbers, the quality is high as this week's win attests.
The Reserve in Show award went to Larry and Sharon Webb of Oregon City with a stunning Chinchilla Mini Satin. The Webbs, long known over the years for their outstanding Satins and Silver Martens, began working with Mini Satins in 2005. Their consistent wins in Washington and Oregon demonstate that their Mini Satins are of the highest quality.
